Trendsend review #4

My fourth box was pretty dang good this month. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had this much difficulty deciding as I had with this box. With Trendsend, you have a stylist that pairs outfits together to try on, so that’s what I did.

Trendsend’s styling fee is only a $1 right now. This means if you get a box yourself and keep nothing, you’re only out a dollar. I love Stitch Fix, but what I really dig about Trendsend is they send you eight items and they’re styled in Evereve’s stores. I think the prices are a bit more expensive than Stitch Fix, but so far, I’ve loved their quality. And they’ll send you sale items! They have great customer service, too. I’ve emailed them when I’ve seen the same item on their website on sale and they’ve given me a code to use at check out to reflect those prices.

So on to the clothes!

Sub Urban Riot Paradiso Tee ($30)

This one was relatively easy to say no too. It fit well and was super soft, but I just didn’t want to pay $30 for a T-shirt, especially since I don’t have a good track record of wearing white shirts and not spilling on it or getting grubby baby hands all over it.

So it was definitely cute, but it was a no for me.

Verdict: Returned

Peyton Jensen Aspen Knit Cami ($11) + Kut From The Kloth Hannah Skirt ($50)

So the tank I loved. But it was sent to me in a size too big, so I requested an exchange for a medium. But it was soft. I mean, it was a tank top on sale and that was good enough for me to keep.

The skirt was a bit too small and I couldn’t zip it up all the way. Sigh. So I don’t know. I don’t actually have a jean skirt and this one was really cute, but I decided not to keep it. I’m not sure how good this looked on me.

Verdict: Kept (and exchanged) and returned

Peyton Jensen Theo Puff Sleeve Modal Top ($35)

I wasn’t sure initially how I felt about this one when I first pulled it out. I had tried on another shirt similar to this previously with puffier sleeves, but this one was more subdued. I honestly went back and forth on this on whether or not I wanted to keep it, but in the end, decided I wanted it. I did exchange this one out for a medium because it came in a large and while it felt good on me, I thought a medium would fit better, especially by fall.

Verdict: Kept (and exchanged)

Chaser Star V Neck Tee ($62) + 7 For All Mankind Cut Off Short ($90)

Oh I loved this outfit. I loved this shirt. I felt like it was a bit big in the chest, but otherwise I thought it fit really well. And the shorts felt good. Overall, I didn’t have any complaints except for the price tag. I just couldn’t justify a $62 top and who the hell buys $90 shorts? White shorts? Not this girl.

Verdict: Returned (Boo. Why can’t I have more money?)

Fate Double V Neck Sweater Tank ($30)

This was another one I almost kept. Almost. Like the other tank, it’s sort of a knitted pattern (actually it really does feel like someone crocheted me a tank top). I was actually going to keep this, but then decided not to.

Verdict: Returned

Peyton Jensen Tessa Tie Dye Slip Dress ($75)

I put this dress on and immediately fell in love. While I do like the pattern, the biggest thing is it was a dress that hugged my hips and I can’t usually find something like that. I loved this dress. I felt so good in it. Ugh. I was going back and forth, but the biggest thing is I have a lot of dresses I’ve recently aquired and I didn’t know if I needed another one. The price was a bit high, but in some ways I wish I would have kept it now, looking back. It would have made a great date dress, but even paired with a denim jacket, it would be great for….OK I was going to say getting out with friends, but that doesn’t happen all that much right now. Anyway, it was versatile, and I kind of regret not keeping it. Though I see it on Evereve’s site and it’s on sale for $55. Sonofabitch. I’ll have to think about this. Anyway, what do you think? Buy it or pass?

Verdict: Returned

So I ended up keeping two out of eight things, and have exchanged them for smaller sizes. The dress…I love the dress. I may decide to buy it now that’s it’s on sale, but I don’t know. Tell me in the comments your opinions on this one.

Like the dress (especially if it’s on sale). Could see this one in the late spring/summer of course, but also in the fall paired with a cardigan or jacket and boots (either knee high or ankle), so it would be pretty versatile. It’s also not super “summer” colors like so many sleeveless dresses, so it would transition to other seasons nicely.

Really like the puffy sleeve top – that’s one of the best shirts to wear that trend that I’ve seen!

I’m refraining from buying the dress because I don’t NEED any more, but it was a hard decision. 😉 And the puffy top – I love it!!!

Definitely buy the dress – it is super flattering! I also loved the star shirt but like you could never justify the price.
