Stitch Fix review #5

When I peeked at what I was getting a few days before my fix arrived, I was really excited. I loved all these items. It goes to show that your fixes can keep getting better and better if you stick with it and leave feedback for your stylist. It seems that every time I get some time to try on these clothes, someone is wanting my attention. During this fashion shoot (LOL!!!) I currently had an angry baby laying on my bed who screeched at me every time I came out for an outfit change, so I’ve really been proud of myself for getting that “me time.” Cue head drop and tiny violin.

Anyway, I loved these clothes and couldn’t wait to try them on.

Mason & Belle Kinglake Mixed Material Top ($36) + Just Black Nilo Distressed Frayed Hem Capris ($78)

I wanted to LOOOOOOVE this top. It’s totally my style and I really was wanting some more short-sleeved tops since so much of my wardrobe is long sleeves and tanks. While I loved the grey top part, because it was cotton, the lower half was that fabric that has.no.give. So it felt a little tight around my waist. I also wish it was longer. Also, I feel like the fold in the sleeves would get annoying quick because they wouldn’t stay perfectly folded. A lot of issues here, folks.

The capris, while I love the color, weren’t as short as I wanted. I had even requested capris that were shorter. Still. I liked them. They were colorful and made me happy and I need more of that in my life right now.

Verdict: Returned & Kept

Kaileigh Tasha Knit Dress ($48)

I had requested in my box for a dress that was brighter in color than some of the other dresses I was getting. So, of course, I was excited to get this one. But, eh…

I didn’t think it flattered me at ALL. I think it’s the waist. I don’t look good in these dresses that have these cinched waists. And the cut of the top just made my chest (which is already larger, thank you very much) to look even bigger. So it was a no go for this one. Though it would have made an adorable dress for Olivia.

Which I guess goes to show that if my four-year-old would look good in it, it doesn’t exactly scream sexy.

Verdict: Returned

41 Hawthorn Denver Front Twist French Terry Knit Top ($38)

This was another top I was hoping to love, even if I wished it had shorter sleeves. But then I put it on and it did nothing for me. I’m not opposed to stripes, but honestly? I felt dizzy looking at myself.

Stitch Fix review #5

The last thing I need right now is to get an ocular migraine triggered from looking at myself in a mirror. I don’t mind the twist at the bottom, but one, I already have two tops with this from prior fixes and two, twist tops are a fad, and since I tend to keep clothes for years, I wondered if in a few years I’d hate this style.

Verdict: Returned

TOMS Alpargata Printed Canvas Flat ($48)

I totally forgot to even take a photo of these shoes. And they’re cute. They’re summery. But I’ve also learned from myself that white shoes is no bueno on me. I’m guaranteed to get them dirty and who wants that with shoes as cute as these? So I knew I wasn’t going to keep these and didn’t even try them on.

Verdict: Returned

So there you go. One thing kept out of five. But hey. I needed some more capris, and these were cute, so I’m happy. And thanks to all of you who signed up under my link, you’re keeping me nice and fashionable. I did put in my notes for the next fix that I definitely didn’t want any more clothing that had devil material that squeezed me, so that should help for the next one. I’m still really sad about that grey and floral top because I really wanted that one to work out. But alas.

For more length look at Duluth Trading Company. They really do give you extra length in their tops. Agree with your decisions about these returns. Clothing really is tough to sort out as bodies change so much with pregnancy and post pregnancy.
    Cheers!

Ugh. I don’t know. I didn’t feel good in it. And I did like the top. But… I felt like I really needed to love it.
