Celebrating: National Infertility Awareness Week! I know it totally looks like I’ve been snubbing it on my blog, but I’ve been posting about it on my Facebook page. Namely in the form of looking back on infertility and past posts I’ve written that I feel really capture what infertility is really like. Here are the posts if you missed them:
- Operation Baby 4/30/12
- Happy Valentine’s Day! I Get To Have Timed Intercourse! 2/14/13
- “I’m Pregnant! Ha ha! J/K! April Fools!” 4/1/13
- NIAW: In Which We Discuss Sex 4/21/13
- Lupron: I am Risa’s Miserable Company 6/10/13
- In Which I Probably Make A Giant Ass Of Myself And Everyone Stops Reading 1/22/15
Reading: I’m so proud of myself. I’m on the 5th book in the Outlander series, The Fiery Cross. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still good. But it’s slowed down again, where the 3rd and 4th books were really exciting.
Watching: I’m watching “13 Reasons Why” on Netflix during Olivia’s naps (of course, blogging at the same time). It’s been good so far.
Listening: Chris and I took a trip to Iowa last weekend and listened to the podcast, “Serial” which I understand everyone has seemed to listen to already and has moved on to S-Town, but like my fertility, I seem to be one of the last to get on board. It’s been really good and definitely helped pass the time in the five hour car ride. I have lots of thoughts on this and am waiting to see how it ends.
Drinking: Chris and I picked up some cream soda from the Amana Colonies on our trip to Iowa from their brewery. I’m obsessed.
Eating: Too much bad food again. Seriously. Too many sweets, too many salty snacks. Must do better.
Wearing: Right now, I’m wearing my striped LuLaRoe Classic T and jeans. OK, fine, they’re maternity jeans. It’s a bit chilly here now in Minnesota, so I’m under a blanket.
Loving: Olivia’s new headbands she received from her Auntie Celina. Also, Olivia’s hazel eyes.
Anticipating: Meeting someone tomorrow. I recently signed up to be a mentor for other women in the throes of infertility. I was matched up and my mentee and I are meeting for coffee to get to know each other. I’m excited about it. I wish something like that existed years ago for me.
Hoping: I can sell all or most of the things I’m currently selling on a bunch of Facebook garage sale sites. So far, I’ve made about $500.00 and it’s how I’m trying to fund our FET. Oy.
Following: The weather forecast! Lame, I know. But Olivia needs to get out and enjoy the gorgeous weather we experienced in Iowa last weekend and so far, it’s been sunny, but cool.
Wondering: How do I get Olivia to stop hitting me? She started earlier this week whacking me in the face and then laughing hysterically when I grab her hands and tell her “No!” really sternly. Seriously. This is just a stage right?
Trying: To stay organized with all I have going on. It’s a good problem to have, because I need to stay busy, but I also know how hard it can be to bounce back once I fall behind. So must stay ahead of the game.
Worrying: About our celery and onion plants we got from Chris’ parents when we saw them. It’s been unusually cold out, and they have to sit on our kitchen table for another week. But I don’t think they’re getting enough sunlight. They’re looking a bit sad and wilty.
Planning: Olivia’s gift for her second birthday. OK, it’s not until November, but I’ve been looking at Build a Bear and there are so many choices in stuffed animals and outfits, it’s not even funny. I’ve never done one before, and I think it would be fun to do for her!
Contemplating: Going to a little petting zoo with Olivia this weekend.

Oh my gosh I love the headbands on her, they are so cute!! Bowen has been whacking me in the face for a while and hard! I have been working on that but nothing is helping so if you figure it out PLEASE let me know! If he is near my face I am in constant preparation for a random slap..ugh.

Thanks! Babies in bows are to die for.
Re: the hitting. We bought the book “Hands are not for Hitting” and it is has been very helpful. When Izzy would hit we would gently take her hand and say no, while also talking about what we could do with our hands (shake hands, eat, hug, etc.).

I love that! I should look into that book.
I love that you signed up to be a mentor! When life settles down and we get moved (somewhere), maybe I should look into that. Definitely do the petting zoo! My kids LOVE doing stuff like that. They are obsessed with animals. But hey, I’m so far behind in my blog reading, maybe you DID do the petting zoo and I just have to keep reading to find out 🙂

For sure! Just use that website! And sadly, we didn’t do the petting zoo because she got sick. Boo.
