This is my first #Microblog Monday post and I think it’s a fantastic idea being that I’m trying to bring sexy blogging back. I know I’m only fifteen years late to the game, or two if you want to be specific, but I know I struggle with pushing myself to blog more. And I don’t know why that is, because I do like to write and I’m here on the laptop while we watch old episodes of Worst Cooks in America (thank you Netflix) and Chris is playing with Olivia.
I know we ordered Dominos tonight, but watching this show brings me back ten years ago when Chris and I lived in our apartment and you guys, seriously, I was the worst cook in America. I hated it. I burned everything. I knew how to make a taco salad (which ironically remains to be one of my favorite dinners ever) and a box of Kraft. To this day, I still burn chicken if I pan fry it, but the thing is, cooking is now one of my favorite hobbies. Like, I can say I’m a good cook and it’s not embellishing anything. It’s funny how things change…

I was also a terrible cook. But given time and commitment, I've gotten a lot better. Now it's just a matter of actually using those skills . . . .
What turned it around? Cooking shows? Practice?
I don't get to use my cooking skills as much as I used to before baby. đ But it's still fun when I get to!
Ooooo, practice certainly. But then I got obsessed with the cooking shows and finding recipes and writing down ones I liked. And then the kitchen gadgets started. It pretty much snowballed from there. đ
I learned to cook the year I was unemployed and living with my parents. Rough year but not wasted, in hindsight. I'm still not a very adventurous cook. I make soups and casseroles and salads. WASPy comfort food though I am not Anglo-Saxon lol
Welcome!! I would have to work my way up to being one of the worst cooks in America. First I'd win the award for "Woman in America with the least desire to Cook." I think that's why I love watching shows like Top Chef and Chopped. I marvel at people who are great at something I have absolutely no interest in doing and no talent for. Luckily my husband is pretty good at it and doesn't break out in hives when he thinks about doing it like I do. xo
Ha ha, wait what? WASPy? I'm trying to Google that, but I'm only getting bee talk.
I love Worst Cooks! I know, it's funny. I definitely didn't inherit this from my parents.
