I’m so thankful for a mild Halloween this year, especially since I wanted to get out with the baby, and we couldn’t do it if it was freezing.
Olivia had her Halloween parade during preschool today and Chris took off so we could both go to it, complete with a sleeping Emelia in tow. Luckily, she pretty much slept through the whole thing, so I could keep her in her car seat. It was so much fun seeing Olivia up on stage. The kids all paraded down the aisles, and we waved to her as she passed us. They all gathered on stage and sang some songs. I took a video and teared up because…well because I’m me and that’s what the years of infertility have done to me.
That evening after dinner, we did a trunk or treat in the parking lot of her preschool. There were a lot of cars participating that decorated their cars. A few days ago, we did a trunk or treat at our church. Emelia slept through both events except for the last part at church when I needed to go inside and nurse her because I didn’t think we could make it home and she wailed as soon as I put her back in the car seat until we arrived home. Fortunately, for this trunk or treat at Olivia’s preschool, she did a lot better.
Afterward, we went to my parents so Olivia could do a few houses there and she and Emelia could open their goodie bags from my mom with their two cousins.
Emelia got a little Halloween outfit in her bag that she wore a few days later. Next year, she’ll be able to participate with her sister. At least, be carried around and collect some candy for me.
