Trendsend review #1

I have a problem. I like getting subscription clothing boxes. My third Stitch Fix box is arriving in a few weeks, but I also decided to try out Evereve’s Trendsend boxes just to see if maybe there was something fantastic I could keep (since I was also looking for an outfit for Valentine’s Day). They work the same as Stitch Fix with a $20 styling fee that goes toward a purchase, but they’re running a deal of getting the styling fee for $1. But where I was sent five items from Stitch Fix, I was sent eight from Trendsend. I think the prices are pretty comparable, but since Evereve is a physical store, you can request they send you any clearance items.

Once again I was super stoked to get my box and it came with a personalized note from my stylist. Trendsend boxes have “outfits” where you’re supposed to try on pieces together, and I probably should have done that but I don’t think it would have made a difference in what I kept.

Good Curve Skinny Jeans by Good American ($169) + Baxter Twist Top by Allison Joy ($15)

Let’s start with the jeans. I peeked at the itemized list and saw they were $169 and almost died. I don’t think I’ve ever tried on that expensive of jeans in my life. I’m more of the $25 sales rack. And they honestly aren’t anything special which is why I don’t have a more focused photo of them. But then I tried them on. And now I’m in heaven.

These jeans. They fit like a glove and they DON’T squeeze me and I could wear them all the time. I want to run away with them and have their babies, but I can’t because I’m infertile and also because Chris would be super pissed.

But bravo, Trendsend, bravo for sending me a pair of jeans I don’t hate myself in.

This twist top shirt was actually really cute on me and it was a clearance item, originally like $48 (who pays these prices??).

February Trendsend Review

OK, OK, Fine.

Verdict: Fuck it. Kept and kept

Lela Floral Kimono by Allison Joy ($68)

I pulled this out and sort of snort laughed because this is NOT what I would have chosen for myself. I mean, it was flowy and comfortable and maybe in a different pattern, I would like it more. But for $68, there’s no way.

February Trendsend Review

I sort of felt like one of those 65 year old women who like to bird-watch and always have binoculars strung around their necks. Needless to say…

Verdict: Returned

Marelle Kimono by Allison Joy ($68)

Um…well yeah so I pulled this out and it took me a solid 60 seconds to find out a) what it was and b) where the top was. Again, it was flowy, but I felt like it kept trying to slide off my shoulders and I was not digging the wide sleeves.

February Trendsend Review

I am intrigued about other kimono-type tops they might have, so I’m not writing them off completely, but this one wasn’t working. Maybe it was the pattern? Maybe I just don’t look good in this flowy of tops? Either way, it was a no for me.

Verdict: Returned

Like a Cloud Tie Dye Pullover by Lovestitch ($68)

Well this one was fun.  I pulled it out and was pretty sure I had made my decision before I even put it on. Not me.

February Trendsend Review

Plus, the sleeves were pretty tight and I need something I can push the sleeves back because usually, I’m hot. Postpartum problems and all. But even if I could have, I wasn’t feeling this—style, pattern, the works.

Verdict: Buh bye

Lorene Shift Dress by Peyton Jensen ($88)

Um, I think snakeskin is in style? Except, I don’t think I do snakeskin.

February Trendsend Review

Besides for the pattern, I felt like this dress made me gain thirty pounds, but it was weirdly tight and I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to get it off. Oy.

Verdict: Returned, and I’m not even sorry about it

Celeste Shift Dress by Peyton Jensen ($88)

I love black dresses. Looooove them. Of course, my cheap ass doesn’t really feel enthused at the price tag for, well, a little black dress. I mean, it was OK. I don’t think it fits me all that great. Good thing I had a photobomber help me with this one.

February Trendsend Review

It had pockets and I thought that was pretty fun, but the very fact that it had pockets made the sides sort of stick out and with my already wide hips, I didn’t need a reason to make them look any wider.

February Trendsend Review

Sorry, little black dress. I couldn’t do it.

Verdict: Returned

Natalia Ruffle Dress by Peyton Jensen ($94)

This was something I pulled out hoping I would love because it was just the thing I was looking for in a semi-formal dress. At first, I totally wore this wrong and had no idea until I sent the photo to a friend and she thought I needed to shift the waist up a little since it was a drop waist and I had no what that was until I looked it up. Whoops.

February Trendsend Review

Apparently, I have no sense of fashion at all?

I tried it again and it looked a lot better.

The lighting looks super weird, but you get the idea. I don’t know. I agonized over whether it was worth keeping. If I loved it $94 worth. I love the dress as a whole. But was it too busy? Was it me? Ugh. Over and over I debated and in the end, I decided to return it. Fingers crossed something better comes along.

Verdict: Returned and I’m sort of heartsick.

I have Trendsend set up to send me boxes on demand, but I think I’ll definitely get another in the near future. I love how many items I received, and I’m looking forward to getting a box of some spring clothing.

I hope I read it correctly and you kept the jeans! They look amazing on you and the cost per wear is going to be minimal very quickly. And don’t buy anymore $25 discount jeans- just wear those! 🙂 The twist top also looks great on you- solid A+ outfit!

Hooray for amazing jeans! Worth every penny. Of course it’s not the clothes which make you gorgeous, it’s just good to find the outfits which let it show.

I signed up for Stitch Fix as they finally offer it in the UK – sadly your referral link didn’t work internationally. But thank you anyway for nudging me to do it, my first box arrives on Saturday : )

I saw Trendsend for the first time while scrolling through IG. I think I hear from others it’s either comparable or slightly more expensive than Stitch Fix, but I love how you can get their clearance items as well which obviously makes things cheaper. I’m getting another box from them at the end of March, so we’ll see what they have then!

I signed up! I’ve never had good luck with Stitch Fix but for $1 I will give this a try. You look amazing! Especially the jeans!

Unrelated there are two Evereve stores really close to me. One at a mall I go to if I have to go to a mall. How did I not know about this?

I saw Trendsend while scrolling through IG. I don’t think we have any stores near me, but I do like how they put together the boxes from stuff in the store. We’ll see what the next box brings. I hope you find something fun!

Well. I liked it all! Every piece they sent! Keeping it all was not in my budget so I chose the two I liked the most and kept those. I can’t wait to get another box when the weather warms up. What a fun find! Thanks!

It was absolutely fascinating to see the clothes on you and I totally agree with your decisions. You kept the items that you looked fabulous and slim in and returned the ones where you looked lumpy or significantly heavier than you looked in the keeper clothes! You really are being successful in regaining your non-pregnant slimness. Take a Huge bow for job well done!!!
