The follicles are looking good

This is how you know you and your husband are on the same page with this Infertility Crap.  You can hold this conversation over text message and your husband needs no decoder ring to understand infertility lingo.  Better yet, he praises your ovaries for producing stellar follicles.

The follicles are looking good

That’s right. Three mature follicles!  Even the nurse was happy.

Nurse: “Well your follicles are looking good!”

Me: “Thanks, it was a lot of work, a lot of sleepless nights, but I took one for the team.”

Nurse: “I wish my ovaries were as awesome as yours.”

Me: “Not everyone can be this awesome.”

Nurse: “Promise you will remember me when you are holding All Of The Babies?”

Me: “I make no promises.”

Trigger is tonight.  Once again, I will juggle triggering with Real Life.  I am having dinner with a friend tonight.  I hope Olive Garden forgives this indiscretion of me shooting up in their bathroom.

IUIs are set to be scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:30 each time.  Positive thoughts, tribal baby dancing, and prayers that egg(s) meet sperm appreciated.

Whenever I make jokes with the nurses, they just look at me blankly.

('Course, maybe my jokes aren't that funny…)

My fingers are crossed for you! Ha, and I love your Olive Garden reference. You probably aren't the first one to shoot up in that bathroom, and at least yours is for a noble cause.

Haha, yes! I love this text exchange. We have similar ones. I love it when the Artsy Engineer praises me for the performance of my ovaries. I feel so proud. 😉

Good luck with the IUI's! Hurray for another go at it!

Oooooh! Good job, ovaries! I'll be praying to the appropriate deities that at least one of those eggs gets itself fertilized. 🙂

I also thought it was hilarious when my husband started googling all the IF stuff and reading forums and then started taking in forum lingo.
Good luck! Doing all sorts of tribal baby dancing and positive thinking for you.

You are one funny chick and apparently so is your husband! I love it. I am crossing my fingers and doing little baby dance for you!

  13. March 11, 2013 / 7:23 pm

I love those text messages! My hubs and I do that too! People have no idea the lingo that is involved with infertility treatments.
Two IUIs??? How did you get to do that???

I now have a mental image of you getting caught, syringe in hand, in the Olive Garden bathroom and them calling the cops because they think you're a druggie. 🙂 Good news on the follicles!

Good for you for juggling triggering with your real life. I get super focused during my cycle and find it hard to do "real life" things. Sending you lots of baby dust!!

  16. March 12, 2013 / 1:38 pm

Sending good vibes your way for today and tomorrow. Come on follies and sperm: fertilize!!!!

  17. March 12, 2013 / 6:50 pm

Best of luck! Hope all goes well, Risa! I would send you some baby dust, but I'm not sure I have any, so I'm just sending you good thoughts and sending up prayers!

They do back-to-back ones. I like the idea of it, and I don't see many others getting to do this. Not sure why my clinic does it this way.

  19. March 12, 2013 / 7:23 pm

Ha ha ha! Wouldn't that be fun. 🙂

  20. March 12, 2013 / 7:25 pm

Ha! No the nurse didn't really say that. She's not THAT much fun. 😉

  21. March 13, 2013 / 3:46 pm

So I take back my comment on your previous post where I said maybe you should try a new med. Looks like you and clomid get along just fine. Three follicles!?! Whoa.

🙂 Yep. It definitely is working how it's supposed to. Just no pregnancies. 🙁
