Stitch Fix review #6

It’s so true what they say: your fixes get better and better the longer you stick with it and give good feedback. This was the first fix where I kept 3/5 items. Though I think I have a new stylist (I’m not sure anymore if she was the one that styled my last fix) and she did a great job picking items I loved. It was a far cry from my very first fixes back a few months ago. So let’s get to the clothes!

Papermoon Arlene Halter Blouse ($38) + KUT from the Kloth Darryl Straight Leg Capris Jean ($88)

I loved this blouse when I pulled it out of the box. I love the bright color and I don’t usually wear yellows because I don’t think it goes well with my skin tone, but the darker tone here seemed to help.

The only issue I had was it was that material that doesn’t give and I can’t stand that, coming from someone with a, ahem, bigger tummy, so I felt like I needed to keep pulling it down, only it was shorter and wouldn’t move. I didn’t hate it, but it just wasn’t fitting right for me.

Stitch Fix review #6

As far as the capris, since I still had credits in my account (Thank you for those of you who signed up under my link! You’re keeping me well-styled) and I loved how these fit me, I knew I was going to keep them. Would I have paid $88 for them out of my pocket? No. Definitely not. That’s stupid expensive for capris. But I loved the color and I have nothing like them (it’s denim and black as far as capris and shorts go around here) so it was a no-brainer.

Verdict: Returned and kept

41 Hawthorn Jaslinda Twist Neckline Knit Top ($44) + Dean John Finnegan Roll Cuff Short ($58)

I love this top. I love the length and the stretch and I adore the twist tie top. Which is hard to see in this picture, but oh I felt good in this. My stylist suggested I pair it with these shorts which are a dark navy color and usually I don’t wear, you know, short shorts, but I actually liked how these looked on me. And they were comfortable for being a button closure. Since I’m trying to break away from my tried and true maternity bottoms (RIP), I knew I’d wear these a lot this summer.

Verdict: Kept and kept

Kaleigh Holt Brushed Knit Dress ($54)

I was really hoping I’d love this dress, but I don’t know. I didn’t like how it fit. I don’t think it flattered me. Looking at it now, I see it looks pretty good on me, but when I was wearing it I just felt blah. I didn’t like how it felt on and I can’t put my finger on why. Maybe it was the “OKness” of the color? Maybe it blended in too much with my skin and I looked washed out? The price was great. This was the least expensive of the dresses I’ve bought from Stitch Fix so that in and of itself would have made me keep it.

But I didn’t love it. So back it went.

Verdict: Returned

But hey! Three items kept out of five. I’ll take that as a huge success! Had I kept the dress or yellow top, I would have saved another 25%, but knew I just couldn’t justify that.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve returned the unkept items and I wear all three of my pieces fairly often, so I know it was worth it. I found some clothes for summer and now hopefully I can actually be out in public with them to make it worth it. Ha. Though my daughter tells me I look beautiful in these so there’s that. She’s all that matters I guess seeing that she’s around me 98% of the day.

Dress color was totally WRONG on you; blah, blank, boring, wash you out and inside the plaster wall WRONG. Agree with your keep choices and also the returns. Your legs look really good in those shorts by the way.
    THANK YOU for posting this.

Thank you! It’s not a part of my body I like, but I do agree. These are magic shorts. 😉

I think everything looked great on you but totally get that you also have to feel comfortable in the clothes. I bought a few items from my first Trunk that I used your referral for and I got credits too so that was awesome!! There stuff is a little more expensive but I like that they communicate better and send more items to pick from.

Very true! And I like Trunk Club is Nordstrom, so obviously the clothes are good quality. So far, Stitch Fix has been great, but I’ve heard other reviews where their own clothing is on the cheaper side.
