My last Trendsend box was back in February where I got the super comfortable jeans and clearance sleeveless top. I decided to try another box and see if there was something else I could add to my closet.
The thing I’ve learned with Trendsend especially, is that I probably benefit most from their clearance items and clothing that is more dressy. This month’s box was filled with nine items which was amazing but was mostly casual clothes for spring. And the sad part was I loved almost all of it but the price was keeping me back. For instance, I would be hard-pressed to buy a t-shirt for $30-40 unless it was life-changing. So I think because everything was more casual wear, it was really hard to justify prices. I’d rather put that money into a really cute date night top or dress than a tank and shorts.
But let’s look at what this box brought. There are only eight items here because they actually send me the dress I almost kept last month, which was strange.
Sub Urban Riot Take It Easy Tee ($38) + Kut from the Kloth Connie Ankle Skinny ($89)
The shirt was super soft. I liked it a lot. I don’t really have anything bad to say about it, except for the price.
Same with the skinny jeans. I really liked the cut on the bottom with the fringe, but since I wasn’t in the market for more long pants, it was a no on both fronts.
Verdict: Returned and returned
Lovestitch Lara Animal Kimono ($68)
Trendsend, and Evereve, must have a lot of kimonos, and I like the idea of them, but I have yet to find one I actually think I look good in. With the 20% discount I had, it made this one $54 dollars and had I loved it, I would have kept it for the price. But I don’t know, maybe it was the length.
I felt like it was a giant robe. Which Comfortable Risa is all on board with, but I don’t know. It was just OK. My stylist told me to pair the t-shirt with it, and I wasn’t seeing the connection.
Soooo…no.
Verdict: Returned
Allison Joy Miley Varsity Scoop Tank ($48) + Kut from the Kloth Catherine Boyfriend Short ($69)
My stylist suggested pairing the tank and shorts together. Which makes this outfit totally me. This is the stuff I live in during the summer. I liked the tank. It was my style. I love the length of these shorts and have something similar that I wore a ton last summer. These were unfortunately too small and maybe if they would have fit and I felt great in them I’d feel more inspired, but again, it all came down to price.
I know I could find similar pieces for half the cost, so I couldn’t justify keeping them, even with the 20% discount.
Verdict: Returned and returned
Chaser Vintage Rib Hoodie ($74)
I paired this hoodie with the tank top and shorts outfit and could see how perfect this is for early spring/summer. I love hoodies and wear them all the time. But again, price. And I hate that.
I would gladly pay $30 but even with the 20% discount, it was still $60.
Verdict: Returned
Sunday in Brooklyn Nikki Stripe Rib Racer ($48 $12)
I have in my profile to send me any discounted items and was so glad to get one. This top was originally $48 (!!!!) but was clearanced to $14.99 and with my discount, it brought it to $12 which I can totally get on board with.
Obviously, with the nursing tank I was wearing underneath, there are straps to contend with, but I figure maybe a sports bra would work with this. Either way, I couldn’t beat the price.
Verdict: Kept
Kut from the Kloth Brene Denim Jacket ($98)
I’ve been wanting a denim jacket, but have yet to find one I think looks good on me. I liked the cuffed sleeves on this, but they were really tight. I think the whole thing needed to be sized up, but I did overall like the style of it.
And I honestly could see myself wearing this quite a bit in the fall and spring, but the price was just too much.
So this one went back in the bag as well.
Verdict: Returned
So… one item out of nine. But since Trendsend is offering $1 referral credits, I wasn’t out any money and with that dollar applied to my order, I got the tank top for $11. Do I think a lot of stuff there is pricy? Definitely. As I said, I think the biggest problem I had was that most of the stuff in this box was pretty casual—things I tend to go cheaper on anyway.
The good thing was I did have a 20% discount applied to each item, which made the prices cheaper. For instance, the boyfriend shorts I almost kept were $55 instead of $69. Which is pretty good. Maybe if they fit better I would have been more motivated to keep them, but I also know I can probably find these cheaper in a store.
Trendsend is still offering the $1 styling fee if you wanted to try them out. Even if you keep nothing, you only are out a dollar. I’d love it if you used my link to create an account because both of us will receive a 20% discount on each of the items we get!
