Stitch Fix review #4

I’ve been doing these reviews a lot lately, but the fact is I have 90 days to spend my Stitch Fix credit (sort of didn’t realize that at the time when they were running their $100 credit promotion and advertised the hell out of it) and you all were so amazing about using my link to sign up for your own boxes that I have some shopping to do. So thank you for keeping this mama well styled.

This is box #4 for me and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve really liked my stylist and my boxes have been getting better and better. So here we go.

Absolutely Tabitha Fitten Short Sleeve Pullover ($38) + Liverpool Mirabella Capri Skinny Jean ($68)

I requested capris since I live in these all summer, and I can see these being comfortable (they just pulled right on), but unfortunately, they were a bit snug around my waist. (Thank you cream cheese danishes. Assholes.)

The pullover was knit, so it would be perfect for spring.

I liked it. I didn’t love it though. It fit great, but I don’t know. Maybe it was the horizontal stripes? Maybe there was nothing special about it? Whatever it was, it was just OK and when I get things from Stitch Fix I want to love them. So back they both went.

Verdict: Returned and returned

Kaileigh Seanna Faux Wrap Knit Dress ($48)

Pulling this dress out, I thought I was going to really like it. I’ve been wanting to find more dressier dresses, but when I put it on I knew immediately I wasn’t going to keep it. It was one of those, eh, get this thing off-type of clothes. No bueno.

I don’t think the cut of it flattered me. I didn’t feel good in it. I already have a wider waist and this dress was doing me no favors. So peace out black and white polka-dotted dress.

Verdict: Returned

41 Hawthorn Kassidy Faux Wrap Dress ($54)

But then I tried this one on and loved how I felt in it.

I knew this one was going to be a keeper. I like the pattern without it being too busy (or heinous).

So now I’m set with two dresses for spring and that makes me happy. The other ones I have in my closet currently don’t seem to fit well anymore after this second pregnancy, so to have not one, but two dresses that make me feel good—winner winner.

Verdict: Kept

Lety & Me Aubree Back Detail Cardigan ($44)

My stylist told me to wear this cardigan over the dress and I loved it. Here in Minnesota we’re in fool’s spring and this way I can wear it even when it snows again and gets cold before real spring sets in.

The back had a braided pattern and I love the 3/4 length sleeves.

So it was a no-brainer. Get in my closet, my pet. Mama has big plans for you.

Verdict: Kept

So there you go. Two of five things kept, which is perfectly fine with me. For my next box, I requested some dresses in colors other than navy and black, you know, brighter colors so here’s hoping I can find one more.

If you’ve never tried it, consider giving Stitch Fix a try. It makes it worth it to try on the clothes in the comfort of your own home for three days. If you sign up as a new customer using my link, you’ll get a $25 credit, which covers the styling fee, so you won’t be out anything. I’m out of credits for the rest of the year, thanks to everyone who’s signed up already, so I don’t benefit from it, but maybe some of you can? You can sign up through this link.

If you do end up getting a box, let me know how it’s going for you!

The best part is, once you are signed up you get your own referral link—which means you can start earning $25 credits for yourself as well!

Love this and the pictures of you decisions pro and con.
As I am now self isolated per Gov’s direction for an indeterminate time frame but I am certain will be longer than 4 weeks …. well. Your post improve my day, ground me in reality instead of my whirlpooling fears. You are making a difference in a world beyond yours. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Oooooh, I love that dress! So pretty! And the cardigan, too. I am a firm believer that the longer you work with the same stylist (who listens to you, if they don’t, for the love of all that’s holy, SWITCH), the better your boxes get. I would be super specific about my thick waist and huge boobs. Eventually, everything was (mostly) awesome! I’m glad you’re enjoying, it’s such a nice pick-me-up and lovely not to have to go in the dreaded try-on room. I also enjoy trying things on with my own shoes and other accessories to see what works with what I have. Also, I have a super nerdy binder that I keep all my style cards in with what I kept and what I returned or exchanged for a different size, so I know what worked and what didn’t. But, they keep updating their website so a lot of that is there now. 🙂 I just like my analog version.

    Enjoy your next box!

They’re slowly getting better. Slowly. But yes, there’s clothes I get that don’t fit my body type at all. I love that you have a binder! I have kept all my cards and I have no idea why because it’s all on the site now. 🙂
